ASB Report September 2nd, 2021
Position Assessment: Since the start of the school year I have participated in Core Camp, Orientation, Club Rush, and Back To School Dance preparation. I went to all days of Core Camp and participated to the best of my ability to make new members of the class feel welcome and included. I aided at orientation alongside my fellow ASB officers signing up members of our school for ASB cards and handing out flyers of important events. I have spent the majority of August focused on the Back to School Dance. This means booking a DJ, chaperones, publicity, decorations, and sales. With Club Rush I helped sell my intent bracelets, ran MultiCultural club, and ticket sales for the dance. I need to work on finding a new DJ and sorting out details for a new dance date. I also need to help my group sell fundraising tickets, and assist with Homecoming Prep.
Standing Committee: I am involved with Renaissance. The google forms have been pushed out through email. Social media publicity has been pushed out for those who qualify, and instructions on how to apply. I will be helping push those cards out and anything else Gabbi needs me to do. I also have participated in Link Crew events like freshmen orientation, training, and back to school night. We have helped the freshmen feel included and comfortable on campus.
Special Committee: I delegated special committees for the dance, which consisted of decorations and fencing. As of right before the old date, decorations and a plan for the football field layout were acquired. Fencing was also communicated and obtained. More work will have to be done again for the new date of September 18.
Mentorship: I believe the program has gotten off to a good start, with pairs being able to freely talk to each other and ask questions. I think the pairings have matched exceptionally well with prior positions and experience in mind. With my own partner Gracie, I assisted her over the summer in starting her first ever purchase order and procedure form. I have also advised her on portfolio assignments and the creation of her website. This has been very helpful for freshmen in not being lost in all that we do.
Concerns: I am concerned about the effort of some of the Freshman representatives. A large portion of them are not putting forth the effort in class, and seem to be barely assisting in club rush preparation. I need to meet with them to discuss these concerns and get a better understanding of what is actually occurring.
Positive Comment: I am very proud of Claire and Ximena in taking charge of the freshmen. They present as very dominant leaders, and I am excited to see where they take their class in homecoming. They are both really organized and are putting the effort into their decorations and other presentations.
Change: I would like to see the lack of effort from some groups in work days changed. It is not fair that the status of work days can be taken away from those in need of this time by others who sit there on their phones. It is so necessary to time manage and use any free time to your own advantage. Also, they could always assist in other places such as renaissance, or can directly ask Morty for something meaningful to do.
My Impact: I have tried my best in my application to our core principles. We have been prioritizing our why and the purpose in all of our events, such as with our wall for the dance in writing all of our students names, and our revamping of homecoming soon. I have been trying to the best of my ability to give all my effort, trying my hardest to make the BTSD a success and bring our class closer together with the mentorship program. I have struggled with staying positive amongst so many changes in plans with the dance, but I have made it a priority to work on this and to simply go with the flow of things. With an impact amongst campus I have tried my best to help out others and create a positive environment. I helped guide parents at back to school night as well as freshmen to their classes. I have also been promoting clubs and diversity amongst campus with MAC, and will be taking off with that soon. Overall I have had a great start to my senior year.
ASB Report October 14th, 2021
Position assessment: I completed the BTSD successfully on the 18th, and made around $6,000 in profit. There were a lot of people who showed up, especially underclassmen whom I was excited to see participate. There were minimal issues the night of, besides immature people throwing items. Our Cool Hand Luke fundraiser went well, making around $4,000 in profit. I sold all my tickets and brought my group around Ripon to sell door-to-door. I oversaw Homecoming as a whole, and assisted where needed with questions, purchase orders, etc. Additionally, I helped my class decorate our float and participated in the Night Rally. I have been trying to remain open and helpful wherever it is needed, and I have been keeping a close eye on members in class in time for evaluations as well as elections. Currently I am helping the freshmen alongside Naomi in preparations for their Halloween dance.
Standing Committee: Renaissance has passed out its first quarter rewards, which includes the distribution of gold and silver cards, ace tickets, Block R’s, and star pins. Those were passed out during fourth period and will continue to be distributed. Discussions should continue for link crew in preparation for socials and study buddy nights. We also completed Back to School Night, in which I helped several parents make their way around campus.
Special Committee: I focused on Coronation committee for Homecoming. In meetings we discussed candidate reveal, flowers, boxes, candidate biographies, as well as reveal at PowderPuff. I assisted in decorating the field the night of reveal and was an announcer alongside Abby Thompson, which was extremely fun. I also organized set up whilst Naomi was getting ready for her big night.
Mentorship Evaluation/Completion: Gracie and I went to lunch at Isabell’s and had a really great time bonding over school, leadership, and our lives. We continue to be a support system to each other, and I helped her on forms for homecoming decorations. I continue to support her through praises, texts, and even just saying hi to her everyday in the hallway.
Concerns: I am concerned about the level of work some of the freshmen are putting into the program. Such as Nathan G asking me if things in class are mandatory and wishing not to do anywork. Or, Abby H never turning her assignments in or helping the class. There needs to be an adjustment in attitude, or elections can be very different this year. Naomi and I should plan to meet with them and work out these issues.
Positive Comment: Derek has been legitimately doing his job, minus the complaining. Any time I go to a school event he is there early with his camera and getting the best angles. He is committed to filming all sports teams and the highlights of activities on campus. I am very proud of April, Naomi, and Kylee for continually being positive influences on the class as well as offering help when it is needed. They are great supporters of their classmates. Also, we had the most spirit I have ever seen during Homecoming, and everyone is finally getting involved within all classes. I am so excited to see our standing when Winterfest occurs.
Change: Our class as a whole is doing very well in the quality and detail in our events. However, a change I would like to see is the bad attitudes and blatant disrespect in class. This is talking when we are trying to move on and sharing nasty glares when this behavior is corrected. There needs to be a higher level of maturity. Leaders need to be help to this standard and accountable for their actions. It is alright to have fun, but there needs to be respect and quiet when work needs to be done. Additionally as previously stated the level of dedication to assignments is gone for some and sloppiness has taken over. I frequently see journals being done during discussions or blank pages as it is being done on a Friday. Time is given every day during role to take care of business, as well as not taking much time. There is no excuse, it can also easily be done after school.
My Impact: As I reflect, I believe this year I have really honed in on remembering my purpose in this program as well as the 100% effort. Although I always gave my dedication, in this position I have made sure to step up in taking charge and remaining a positive influence. Also, continuing my commitment to my peers, my events, and my school has been a focus of mine. The only problem I have is trusting in my leadership family. I can easily do this with people who I have strong bonds with, alongside knowing their work ethic. However, I am very hesitant to trust in underclassmen and people I don’t always see on the front of everything. I just want the best for every event, but trust and communication helps us grow as leaders and as friends within the program. I believe I have played a role in a cultivation of a positive school culture, as having so much success in homecoming and the BTSD will lead to more participation.
ASB Report December 9th, 2021
Position Assessment: So far in my position since October I have participated in Dude Be Nice, CASTL revision and group leading, the Blanket drive, door decorating, the snowflakes, and Winter Formal. For the Blanket Drive my team and I publicized through announcements and flyers of our revamped community service project. Through collection in English classes and with a few other teachers we ran an upper vs underclassmen competition. We raised around $465, with underclassmen winning the competition based aspect by around $60. I have helped the Sophomores by cutting out 30 snowflakes, participating in door wrapping, and helping clean up Winter Formal. For CASTL I was the group leader of the article on community service, and I wrote and edited that. I also helped make a piece with the other two legacies on adapting events with COVID, and lastly completed a piece on my own with an event spotlight on the BTSD.
Standing Committee: For the Renaissance standing committee the ACE tickets have been cut out, and the cards, stars, and Block R’s have been distributed to everyone who has applied for one. This quarter finals passes were distributed to 4.0 GPAs. Link Crew Study Buddy night has been planned for December 14th in the Multi Use Building. Set up for this activity is in motion.
Special Committee: The only special committees that were formed during this time were the blanket drive VP crew and the CASTL revision committee. For the Blanket drive we prepared weeks in advance and had a conversation with administration on how to take on this event with their approval. We ran collections in classrooms and outside of the library during lunch. Blankets were just purchased and will be taken to the Stockton homeless shelter soon. For CASTL Naomi, Anthony, and I met over Thanksgiving break to discuss the essays as a whole and peer review together. We finished by the Tuesday we came back.
Mentorship: I have been lacking in this department due to the enormous amount of work and stress I have been under due to school and other outside commitments. However, Gracie and I were able to talk and bond at door decorating and in class. Also, I assisted Gracie in her professional weebly page and questions she had regarding purchase orders.
Concerns: I am concerned about the mental health of the entire class. The class is under much duress this time of year. I am also concerned with those with less stress not stepping in to help other with many more responsibilities.
Positive Comment: I am so proud of the Sophomores, especially Kylee and Spencer, for the hard work they put into Winter Formal. The dance was amazing and looked spectacular, and I am so proud of them for getting over the obstacles of the event needing to be outside, ticket sales, and practically running their first dance on their own. There were a ton of people who showed up, and it was very well received and put together, despite being put on the tennis courts. Much credits to the underclassmen for putting this on and simultaneously dealing with Warm & Fuzzy week, finals, and Winterfest.
Change: I would like to see the change of class members in knowing what is going on. I and many others should not have to repeat simple knowledge that was discussed very clearly in the agenda. Also, even if some bit of information is missed, it should be asked about the day of and not right before an event is going to happen.
My Impact: Within this program I always try to remember my purpose in that I am here to serve others. That is why the final for this semester and the blanket drive are events that I take very seriously. Also, spreading positivity with snowflakes, chalk messages, and warm & fuzzy is so important in hard times such as these. Although I am staying committed to this program, I find myself very stretched thin. It is very hard to stay positive and give 100% effort when you have ten items on your plate, A’s to keep, work, tutoring, studying, finals, and leadership all in one short time period demanding everything out of you. I will try my best to continue on, but I promise to maintain a better attitude once the semester is over.
ASB Report February 10th, 2022
Position assessment: So far in my position I have been preparing for the upcoming elections for the 2022-2023 school year. I have made questions for the interview themselves and will be reviewing the written responses of candidates soon, and attended the recruitment meeting in the North Gym. Some Seniors alongside me will also be venturing to the elementary schools this month to discuss our program and the benefits of joining. I have helped the Senior class with Winterfest, with window decorating, pillar decoration, and with our shopping cart. I will be presenting my elder project on perseverance this month as well. I still need to complete the selection process for the program, draft my elder project for community service, complete the challenge, and make my farewells.
Standing Committee: For my standing committee Renaissance completed passing out finals passes, ace tickets, star pins, and Block R’s for the second quarter. Sign ups took place for the third quarter at the end of January, and the rewards will soon be handed out. Link Crew has pushed out their applications and has had their try out day. Eighth grade day is soon, and is being prepared for the barbeque.
Special Committee: For the special committee I have completed my Valentine’s day hearts for hospice patients at the Livermore center. I soon will be helping and volunteering for Almond Blossom in working the parking lot.
Mentorship evaluation: Gracie and I went out to lunch last week and talked about everything and everything. We are pretty close, and I am confident that she will continue to text me and ask questions if she needs any help or has questions.
Concerns: I am concerned that the energy of the class will turn uneasy or even hostile with election season coming up. Though this time of year is always straining, I feel that due to previous tension within the class that it might be amplified this year. As Seniors we might need to step in and reassure members of the class, and allow for positivity besides the Encore bonding day.
Positive Comment: I would like to make a positive comment about the spirit commissioners. They have really stepped up in their role this semester, with decorating basketball games and encouraging spirit on campus. Also, they are in the process of creating a shirt with Pendleton, which I think is amazing. I would also like to make positive comments about the Freshmen. They seem so sweet and encouraging to each other, and I love watching them interact and their bonds continuing to grow throughout the school year.
Change: I would like to see a change in the work ethic of class members. I often hear about doing school assignments and leadership homework at the very last minute, and it appalls me how normalized and even how it seems slightly “cool” in a way. We need to normalize being prepared ahead of time and putting more effort into our work.
My impact: In the month of December and the very start of January I struggled with our Core Principle of 100% effort and attitude, and I was in a slump. I have been coming out of it recently, and have been trying much harder to put a lot more effort into my life. Though my energy levels have dropped, I have stayed committed to everything I have signed up for. This was extremely tough with Winterfest, between work, homework, and feeling drained, but I refuse to let my officers or my classmates down. With the new seating chart and work days I have been able to bond more with classmates I don’t normally interact with, and it is very refreshing to do. It makes class more enjoyable, and I feel we have grown as a whole with our Leadership class. We are building back more trust and having lots of fun. Recently I have tried to make an impact by aiding others. While I still need to work on being nicer, I try to make up for it by being helpful. Whether giving advice to peers, helping with homework, or giving reminders for deadlines, I have tried to make a more positive impact.

ASB Report April 14th, 2022
Position assessment: In February I completed the valentine’s day cards for the hospice patients. I also helped clean up the dodgeball tournament. The Seniors and I aided in 8th grade welcome day by moving supplies and giving lunch to all members involved. I talked to different elementary schools about trying out for leadership. I helped at a table at 8th grade night in the North Gym. I interviewed 8th graders for their position as a freshman representative. I also was mainly responsible for the Gallery of the Arts. I communicated with Bowers and Felver, completed the procedure form, invited community members, and promoted the event. It was a major success with lots of community involvement. I also started the third quarter evaluation meetings alongside Naomi. I worked on the challenge and drafted ideas for our student appreciation week, including ice cream and having social events. I have researched volunteer events for Love Ripon. Coming up, I will have to continue working on the challenge, the banquet, and my senior farewells.
Standing committee: Renaissance has been cutting ace tickets and collecting information from the google forms. They ordered more star pins and ziplocs. They started distributing this week. For renaissance I aided in eighth grade welcome day. They are planning to have a study buddy night in May.
Special Committee: The special committee I have been involved with is the student appreciation week for the challenge. We have planned a whole week of giving to the students. We are passing out oreos with positive messages to the students. We are also having ice cream available in the amphitheater. Also, a social event that Friday with teams competing in Jeopardy for spirit items, promoting the dance. This week is all about the students, and creating a positive atmosphere for their last semester.
Mentorship evaluation: Gracie and I continue to talk on a regular basis in class. I help her with any advice she has, and we try to uplift each other when we are feeling down. She got me a gift when I was sad, and this was so important to me. I need to go out for lunch with her soon, we have not done that in a while.
Concerns: I have a concern with the challenge. Due to the seniors being gone at the Modesto conference, I am not sure there are enough people to efficiently give the staff their appreciation breakfast. I am also concerned with how I am going to finish off this year strong.
Positive Comments: I want to give a shout out to Emma and April for taking charge with Gallery of the Arts and doing a great job. I also want to give positive comments about the juniors, who have been working so hard to make prom amazing. They have been so put together and have been doing great with publicity.
One change: One change I would like to see is more spirit participation by the whole class and school. I think we need to finish this school year off strong with red and white, and hopefully there can be lots of spirit dress for our luau dress up day.
My impact: With reflecting on our core principals, I think I have been true to following them. With the challenge I have trusted in my peers to get the job done and we all put in 110% effort. I am struggling with the positivity aspect, however, I always struggle with this. Also, I have remembered my purpose to serve and benefit the student body. We will soon be doing this with the appreciation week and this occurred with the Gallery of the Arts. Being able to influence and highlight the student body is the main reason we are all in this program. These events are how I impact the student body, and I am grateful to be able to do it.
ASB Report May 19th, 2022
Name: Avery Redula
Position: ASB Vice President
Date: May 19, 2022
Position Assessment: My focus since April and May has been mainly the challenge. I was a part of the student appreciation committee and oversaw the event as a whole alongside ASB. I had my shift at the dance, helping make snow cones. I also assisted with two different student appreciation activities. I participated in college reveal and the tribe awards. I also attended two superintendent meetings with ASB as well as one site council meeting. I presented at the Modesto Conference alongside other seniors and middle school students. I spoke on random acts of kindness and validations within the leadership program. I helped run the banquet with ASB, presenting staff certificates as well as the staff spirit award.
Standing Committee: Renaissance has passed out the 4.0 cards and ace tickets. Block R’s have run out but will be given out shortly. Link crew is holding a study buddy night in the upcoming weeks for our second semester finals.
Special Committee: My special committee was the student appreciation committee. I brainstormed and organized ideas for the challenge week. We decided to hold a Jeopardy game day on the Wednesday of the first week of may. We had several teams participating and passed out spirit items as a prize. For that Friday, the committee and I passed out oreos, cookies, otter pops, and leis to promote the dance on that Friday.
Mentorship: Gracie and I continue to support each other every day through positive text messages. We hung out at the end of the year dance, prom, and the banquet. We need to go out to lunch in the upcoming weeks to celebrate the end of school.
Concerns: I am concerned with certain members of the class that are allowed to get away with not doing work because people are required to cover for them, or every person looks bad. For example, the majority of the publicity committee for the challenge not responding to texts and not doing their social media posts and people like Bryan and Naomi having to step in to make them so that we are all not negatively impacted. This could influence how others choose to work for the next year, as people might get away with not doing things if their officer or other commissioner covers for them.
Positive Comment: I am so very proud of April and Gracie for stepping up for student appreciation. Many of the seniors could not participate in events or be there due to AP exams, and they chose to step it up and make things happen. They are always on the ball and are there to lend a hand when their classmates falter. Also, they have their own responsibilities and still are able to manage time.
Change: I would like to see the change of people expecting their hands to be held the entire time. It is the end of the year, and people should know their responsibilities and what is expected of them. It is about time for people to take initiative and have some independence.
My Impact: I have tried my best to trust in my leadership family with the challenge, which has not always worked out. I have been so stressed and overwhelmed these past two months, and this translates to lacking a positive attitude. I try my best to still be a role model to my peers, working to the best of my ability to keep up my grades and work in leadership.
